This branding proposal for a fictional fitness space comes up after researching the relationship women have with their bodies and the places to empower them.
Mika Fitness Studio is conceived as a necessity for women of being in a safe space where they can work on their bodies. It is created by women and for women of all types and with different objectives. There is a focus on health and comfort, while breaking gender stereotypes by putting attention on visual design where every woman is enhanced the way it is
The graphic design in this project is thoroughly studied. From its naming "Mika", that passed through multiple filters starting from Niké Goddess, to its color palette, where it was based in cold and pastel pigments wanting to escape from pinks and to contrast the heat of these fitness spaces.
Its ad campaign covered all formats, with Instagram coverage, motion graphic video, and several posters in different placings.
¿What is the different between a regular gym and Mika Fitness Studio? Mainly, its new format and. innovation. Usually conventional gyms can't cover women safety and they are usually outdated, stereotypically and visually. The concept of women has changed in just ten years, the differences between all of them have come to light and have been celebrated, so a good brand design and a tolerant environment would make Mika the best choice.
This branding project got selected for the Iberoamerican Design Biennial celebrated in Matadero (Madrid, Spain) from November 2021 to January 2022.
BID looked for projects based on actual issues regarding ecology, society or even fashion, where Mika Fitness Studio fitted perfectly.
